Winner of the 2025 Colin Mendelsohn Medal

The Alive Advocacy Movement has awarded the inaugural Colin Mendelsohn Medal to Al Gore.

Al has been a driving force behind the ALIVE advocacy movement and has worked tirelessly for evidence-based vaping policy in Australia.

Behind the scenes, Al has been an absolute powerhouse—researching key scientific papers, policy documents, and media stories, and turning them into clear, compelling content.

One thing that sets Al apart is the generous way he supports others. Al is always there —encouraging, mentoring, and keeping fellow advocates motivated.

Al sets a fantastic example for all of us. This is difficult work, and it’s easy to leave it to others. But it’s only through the passion and dedication of people like Al that we’ll get Australia’s misguided vaping policy back on track.

Al, thank you for everything you’ve done—and continue to do. Congratulations again, and keep up the outstanding work.
